With so many people on social media  it’s no wonder they’re asking: ‘What happens to your digital assets when you die?”

Digital assets that have a sentimental value, such as photographs and videos, are likely to be assets you want to preserve.

But you may have little control over who can access your digital legacy, with beneficiaries named in your Will not having the legal right to access your accounts.

It’s therefore extremely important that you inform your executor what you would like them to do with them so that your final wishes can be carried out.

If you have any estate planning questions, including how we can incorporate your digital legacy into your Will, please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.
